Clint Norwood: Turning Struggles into Strength for Every Student

With 23 years in education, including 13 at Celeste ISD, Clint Norwood brings a deeply personal and powerful purpose to his work — one rooted in perseverance, empathy, and unwavering belief in his students.
A graduate of East Texas A&M University and Bonham High School, Clint’s path into education was shaped by his own journey. Having struggled with dyslexia throughout his life, he understands firsthand the challenges many students face. But more importantly, he knows what is possible on the other side of those struggles. “There were special teachers who helped me overcome my learning difficulties,” he shares — and now, he has become that teacher for so many others.
Clint’s greatest joy in teaching is helping students move from being struggling readers to confident, successful ones. In his classroom, students are not defined by their challenges — they are encouraged, supported, and believed in until they begin to believe in themselves. His connection to his students is genuine and powerful because it is built on shared understanding and real hope.
At Celeste ISD, Clint values not only the work he does but the life he shares with the community. Teaching in the same district his own children attend makes his role even more meaningful, and the relationships he has built with fellow staff members over the years have become an important part of his journey. His goal is simple but life-changing: to help every student overcome their learning difficulties and grow into a successful member of society. Alongside this work, Clint has been married to his wife, Alice, for 21 years, and together they are raising their daughters, Linda Beth and Mary Alice — a family grounded in faith. Clint Norwood’s story is one of courage, compassion, and calling, and through his work, he is not only teaching students to read, but helping them rewrite their own stories.
