Ashley Taylor: Creating a Place Where Every Child Feels Seen

With 26 years in education, Ashley Taylor has built a career rooted in connection, care, and a genuine love for children. Holding a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, she has taught across a wide range of grade levels — from pre-kindergarten and kindergarten to 2nd, 3rd, and 6th grade — and now brings her creativity and heart to the art classroom at Celeste Elementary School.
For Ashley, the most meaningful part of teaching has always been the relationships she builds with her students. Each day begins and ends with intention — greeting students in the morning and sending them off in the afternoon, making sure they feel seen, valued, and cared for. That consistency creates something powerful: a space where kids know they matter.
Even in the art room, Ashley weaves in her love of literacy, blending creativity with reading and storytelling in ways that enrich her students’ experiences. Her classroom is more than a place to make art — it is a place where children are encouraged, celebrated, and reminded that they are loved.
Her goal is simple but deeply impactful: she wants every child to feel that someone is always happy to see them when they come to school. And in return, she hopes her students carry that same kindness into the world, treating others with the same warmth and respect.
Outside of school, Ashley finds joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments. Whether she is relaxing on her back patio with her pups, tending to her plants and flowers, cooking, or playing games with her parents who live next door, she values time spent with the people she loves. And now, with the addition of a precious grandson, that joy has only grown.
Ashley Taylor brings light into the lives of her students each day — not only through art, but through kindness, connection, and the steady reminder that every child is important and deeply valued.
