Greetings from the New Principal

My name is Chris Taylor and it is a privilege and an honor to be joining the Blue Devil Family.  I grew up in Southern Hunt County and was active in FFA while attending Quinlan Ford High School.  I enjoyed showing market lambs and being an FFA officer.  I then graduated from Texas A&M - Commerce with my bachelor’s degree.  I wanted to make an impact on youth and serve students like myself.  I chose to teach in Quinlan ISD.  I have always had a drive to improve things and decided to get my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership.  I have now been an administrator since 2005.  The first 15 years of my career were in Quinlan ISD.  The past 5 years I have been at Keene ISD as High School Principal.  I love helping youth look toward the future while setting and achieving their goals.  God has always looked after me, and I want students to know that there is a plan and a purpose for them.  Many times, you can catch me in the cafeteria playing Connect 4 with students.  I pride myself on working hard and having some fun while doing so.

I greatly enjoy being around my family.  My wife, Ashley, is my foundation!  She makes me better and I am well aware that I "married up".  She has been an all-star elementary teacher for 22 years.  We have two intelligent and beautiful daughters.  Chloe has just been accepted into Nursing School at UT Health in San Antonio.   Maizie is a 2022 high school graduate, and she plans to attend college to complete a sonography tech program.  We have a third daughter named Lucy.  Don't tell her, but she is actually a Mini Aussie, not a human.  We love to travel and to go on cruises.   We also love to binge watch good shows.   I love old vehicles and rat rods.   Being a child of the 80's, I also collect 80's Transformer toys.   You could probably call me a modern-day nerd.

I look forward to serving the Celeste community.  I can't wait to see you at a football game!
