New Scoreboard Donated by Pruitt Family

A new electronic scoreboard was installed at Blue Devil Stadium, and fans got to see it for the first time Friday night, September 2, 2022.  This special gift was donated in loving memory of David Ward Pruitt. Mr. Pruitt graduated from Celeste High School in 1964.  Being voted Most Athletic his senior year, Pruitt spent his high school years dedicating himself to football, basketball, baseball and track.  He served as football captain in 1963 and 1964.  He earned all-district titles in both football and basketball.  In addition to his successful Blue Devil athletic career, Pruitt also served as class president, student council representative, Lions Club Escort, F.H.A. Sweetheart, and participated in the senior play.  The Pruitt Family has been very generous to Celeste ISD.  Besides the beautiful new scoreboard, the family also served as benefactors for the Pat Roach Pruitt Pavilion that was dedicated in 2009.
