CELESTE ISD PINK OUT SPIRIT DAY - Oct 27, 2014

CELESTE ISD PINK OUT SPIRIT DAY

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease.

Celeste ISD students, faculty, staff members and the community joined together in the fight against breast cancer.  Celeste students have participated in a variety of fund raisers for the cause.  A pink out powder puff football game was held and raised $305.00.  Celeste High School Advanced Digital Graphics class held a contest for the most creatively designed breast cancer awareness t-shirt. Senior Holly Gatliff’s “Fight Like A Blue Devil” t-shirt was chosen for the 2014 Pink Out day shirt.  Proceeds from t-shirt sales brought in $995.00.  Together, Celeste High School raised $1,300.00.  All profits will be donated locally to Janice's Closet in Greenville.  Janice's Closet benefits women who are battling cancer and is located at Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville and the Hunt Regional Mobile Mammography Unit.  Janice’s Closet, provides mastectomy bras, prostheses, wigs, compression garments, treatment gowns and other services free of charge to women in need of financial assistance.
