ROBOTICS TEAM COMPETES IN BEST CONTEST

Celeste Junior High School Robotics Team participated in the CoCoBest Robotics contest at Allen High School on October 18, 2014.

CoCoBest is the Collin County hub of the Texas Boosting Engineering Science and Technology (BEST) program.  BEST is a sports-like technology competition that hopes to inspire and motivate students towards studies and careers in engineering, science, and technology.  Several Celeste Junior High students spent every day after school for six weeks building a robot named Evo.  Science teacher, Jason Wilson, and parent volunteer, Matthew Lewis, served as sponsors for the robotics program.  Evo was entered in the CoCoBest contest along with 24 other robots from neighboring Collin and Hunt County schools. The contest consisted of both junior high and high school teams.  During the contest, the students were required to perform certain tasks with Evo to gain points.  Evo placed 10th overall and ranked the highest among middle school teams.  Congratulations to Evo and the CJHS Robotics Team!
