About Me

Educational History:

I have a bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies (education) from the University of North Texas (1997) and I also have a Masters of Science in Teaching Mathematics from Stephen F. Austin University (2006).

Degrees and Certifications:

I have a Bachelors of Science and a Masters of Science.

My certifications are:  Math 1-8, Math 6-12,  Self contained 1-8, ESL K-12, Gifted and Talented.

Current Position:

My current teaching assignment is 3rd grade Math and Science.  I get to teach all of the students in 3rd grade about Math and Science!  I have been teaching for 25 years and I have been in Celeste teaching for 2 years.

Previous Position:

I started teaching in Lancaste ISD teamcing middle school.  I then went to Red Oak ISD, McKinney ISD, Lovejoy ISD, Quinlan ISD, Forney ISD and currently Celeste ISD.

I have also been a educational consultant for Math at Region 10.

I have also been a Master Teacher in the Teach North Texas Program at University of North Texas.

Family Information:

I have been married for 22 years to my highschool sweetheart.  We met when we were 15 and got married in 2001.  I do not have any children, but my husband and I have a gaggle of animals that make up our family.  We have three dogs Sammy, Maddie and Happy, we also have three cats Monkey, Jake and Gibson.  We also have 8 goats and 20 chickens that live on our farm.

Personal Information:

Some of the things I like to do in my free time are gardenting, reading, cooking and watching a good movie! My family is very important to me so I enjoy getting to see them too.  Everyone lives in the metroplex so we get together often to celebrate each other and happy events going on in our lives.

I am excited to be teaching 3rd grade here at Celeste Elementary.  I have taught in several different districts and even at the University of North Texas and for a few years I got to travel around the metroplex and train teachers on how to teach Math when I worked for Region 10 Education Service Center.  I missed having students so I went back to the classroom in 2017 and my heart has been so happy ever since.  I love being a teacher and getting to watch the students learn!  It is my all time favorite thing in the whole world!
