RWC Foundation Career Scholarship

The RWC Foundation seeks to identify worthy students who need additional resources to support their education.  Criteria used to determine scholarship recipients are academic merit, diversity, and financial need. You must be a senior in a public or private high school in Hunt County, Texas, with a minimum 2.0 GPA and a resident of Hunt County.  See me for the application.  Deadline to apply is March 4, 2019 by 5:00pm.


Celeste CYSA Scholarship

The Celeste Youth Sports Association will be offering 2 scholarships in the amount of $250 each. This scholarship requires an essay.  Click here to see the requirements for applying.  Deadline is Friday, March 15, 2019.


Alliance Bank Scholarship

Alliance Bank has established a scholarship program to assist current high school seniors who plan to continue their education in college by enrolling in full-time study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.  Click here for more information.  Deadline is Friday, March 15, 2019.


Texas Builders Foundation

Scholarships are available for the 2019 Fall semester from the Texas Builders Foundation. Applicants must have been accepted or enrolled as a student in a Texas technical/trade school or community college/university and must be pursuing a residential construction related trade certification or residential construction degree. DWI Dawn Brooks Memorial Scholarship

DrugFree Greenville continues to sponsor the DWI Dawn Brooks Memorial Scholarship for graduating seniors.  This scholarship for $250 is awarded to a 2019 Hunt County graduating senior.  Click here for the application. BRRC Scholarship
The Blue Ridge Riding Club is a non-profit organization located in Blue Ridge, Texas. Since 1963, BRRC has been successfully run by a group of families dedicated to carrying on the tradition of Rodeo and the western way of life. Throughout the year, the Blue Ridge Riding Club hosts horse related activities such as a playday series, barrel races, and an annual sanctioned Rodeo. Each year in January we hold the annual meeting and award banquet. Their mission is to provide healthy competition and fun between all ages and levels of equine experience, giving back to our communities, and making life long friendships.  One way they give back is our Scholarship Program. They offer 3 levels of scholarships, including a non-member award. Last year, they awarded $7,500 to area students.

Kavanaugh United Methodist Church
The scholarship program at Kavanaugh has eight scholarships available, ranging in value from $500 to $2,250 per year.   Each scholarship is for a period of one year, payable in two semesters. Financial need is a prime consideration for these scholarships in addition to academic achievement, community involvement, and honors you may have been awarded. Your high school GPA should be a 2.5 or higher. Here is a link to the scholarship application.  The deadline to apply is March 28, 2019 (applications must be received in the church office on or before this date).



Lockhead Martin STEM Scholarship

Lockheed Martin is awarding 200 renewable scholarships of $10,000 each. Awards are open to individuals studying eligible engineering or computer science majors, who demonstrate financial need and come from underrepresented or underserved communities. 2019 TTA Foundation Scholarship

The Texas Telephone Association Foundation (TTAF), a non-profit, philanthropic organization founded to help further the understanding of telephony and advance telecommunications as a career choice, will award six, four-year scholarships, in the amount of $2,000 per year to students entering college for the 2019-2020 school year. It is our intention to fully review every application submitted. Therefore, TTA Foundation will accept a maximum of two qualified applications per high school. The Scholarship Committee will make its selections from those applications which meet the following criteria and include the required materials:

  • U.S. Citizen;
  • Student graduating from a Texas high school no later than June 2019;
  • Student achieving a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher (out of a possible 4.0);
  • Student planning to attend a Texas college or university by the Fall of 2019
  • A completed application postmarked no later than March 29, 2019, including a current transcript A letter of acceptance from a Texas college or university where student has been accepted.
  • Copy of student’s SAR (Student Aid Report).

Deadline to apply is March 29, 2019. See Mrs. Dills for the application, as only two from our school will be accepted.


Discover Student Loans Scholarship Award 

Discover Student Loans is giving away a $5,000 scholarship each month this year! The earlier your college bound students and parents enter, the more chances they have to win 1 of the 12 scholarships available. Families can to enter today. Sweepstakes are open from February 2, 2019 through January 31, 2020.

Raising Texas Teachers Program

The Charles Butt Scholarship for Aspiring Teachers is available to prospective teachers who are currently in, or plan to enter, an eligible teacher preparation program at a Raising Texas Teachers partner university. Aspiring Teachers can apply in the fall of any year between their senior year of high school and junior year of college. 

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must be committed to teaching in a majority-economically disadvantaged school or in a shortage subject area (in a school where more than 50% of students are eligible for free or reduced lunch, or as a math, science, bilingual, or special education teacher) in a Texas public school. Preference is given to Texas residents. The application opens soon, so check it out here.

Texas State University Assured Scholarships

Texas State University now offers three Assured Scholarships, which are guaranteed to all qualified students and are renewable for four years. You don’t need to apply—these are awarded automatically to every student whose academic record meets the required qualifications. The three scholarships:

President’s Honor Scholarship – $26,000--$38,000 total over four years

Texas State Achievement Scholarship--$10,000 – $22,000 total over four years

Texas State Distinguished Scholarship – $6,000 – $10,000 total over four years

Frost Bank Zero-Interest Loans

Frost Bank offers some zero-interest loans, and three of them are available to students in our area who qualify based on the critieria below.  These become available AFTER November 1, 2018 by contacting the Trust Department at Frost Bank.  See Mrs. Dills for more information.

The Abe and Annie Seibel Foundation

  • Must be a US citizen and a Texas resident
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student at a Texas college or university
  • Application deadline is Feb 28, 2019

The Vandal and Winifred Mercer TAMU Foundation

  • Must be a US citizen and a Texas resident
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student at Texas A&M-College Station or any branch located in Galveston County
  • Application deadline is Mar 31, 2019

The Ernest A. Mantzel Foundation

  • Must be a US citizen and a Texas resident
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student at a Texas college or university
  • Applications accepted until funding is exhausted (approx. 50 loans available and max loan is $4000/year)
