LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS

RWC Foundation Career Scholarship

The RWC Foundation seeks to identify worthy students who need additional resources to support their education.  Criteria used to determine scholarship recipients are academic merit, diversity, and financial need. You must be a senior in a public or private high school in Hunt County, Texas, with a minimum 2.0 GPA and a resident of Hunt County.  See me for the application.  Deadline to apply is March 4, 2019 by 5:00pm.

Raising Texas Teachers Program

The Charles Butt Scholarship for Aspiring Teachers is available to prospective teachers who are currently in, or plan to enter, an eligible teacher preparation program at a Raising Texas Teachers partner university. Aspiring Teachers can apply in the fall of any year between their senior year of high school and junior year of college. 

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must be committed to teaching in a majority-economically disadvantaged school or in a shortage subject area (in a school where more than 50% of students are eligible for free or reduced lunch, or as a math, science, bilingual, or special education teacher) in a Texas public school. Preference is given to Texas residents. The application opens soon, so check it out here.

Horatio Alger Scholarship Program 

Requirements: Applicants for this scholarship must:

  • attend high school in Texas
  • be a resident of Texas
  • be a U.S. citizen
  • be enrolled full time as a high school senior, progressing normally toward graduation, and planning to enter college no later than the fall semester following graduation.
  • demonstrate a critical financial need ($55,000 or less adjusted gross income per family)
  • demonstrate academic achievement with a grade point average of 2.0 or higher.

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. 150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship. The application will reopen Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. Eastern for students who will be graduating in the 2018-2019 academic school year and will close Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern. 2018 INNOVATION SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST

It’s time for the 4th Annual Innovation Scholarship essay contest from Herrman & Herrman, P.L.L.C.
