Graduation 2020

After hours of planning, inclement weather and uncertain conditions, Celeste High School graduates got to realize years of hard work and academic dedication in a commencement ceremony.  Following the CDC guidelines for social distancing, Celeste graduates and up to twelve of their family members gathered at the Cross Trails Cowboy Church in Wolfe City at 7:00 p.m. for the long awaited event.  Families sat together in pods of six under the covered arena.  The Senior Class of 2020 entered in processional fashion and Miss Karalyn Goodman gave the invocation.  Principal James J. Branam gave his message to the graduates about being a part of history by surviving the Covid-19 school closure during their senior year.  Mr. Branam also had to instruct the graduates on how to proceed with the ceremony since there had not been any prior practice.  Miss Jaidyn Vankirk gave the salutatory address followed by the valedictory address given by Miss Peyton Dickens.  A special moment during the ceremony came when a chosen family member joined the graduate on stage to present them with their diploma.  Miss Jaycee Brown gave the benediction and the commencement program concluded with the recessional.  Celeste ISD would like to express our sincere appreciation to Cross Trails Cowboy Church for making this event possible by graciously sharing their covered arena.
