JH Veterans Day Program

Family and friends, community members and students joined local veterans and active military on Monday, November 11, 2019, for the annual Celeste Junior High Veterans Day Program. Members of the student council greeted guests at the sign-in table, and the members of the high school drill and cheer teams performed a dance routine as a tribute to America.

In preparation of Veterans Day, junior high students have been learning about military dress.  Several junior high students participated in a presentation of uniforms and service dress during the program.  Students wearing various military uniforms were introduced to the crowd by student council officer, Koby Brown. The significance and purpose of each uniform was explained as students walked before the crowd.  Combat, field and battledress uniforms were represented as well as different types of service dress.

Student council members, Luke Beadles, Aric Timberlake and Grady Ford shared special connections that they have with family members that have served in the military.  The guest speaker, Master Sergeant Chris White, delivered a very powerful message during his speech at the Veterans Day assembly, and the elementary choir sang and played instruments as a salute to Veterans.

The students and staff of Celeste Junior High School would like to thank the community, families and guests for their attendance at the Veterans Day program.  “It was an honor to host this special event,” the student council president, Grady Ford, remarked as he closed the program and invited guests to the reception.
