Kevin and Carol McCaslin Receive Honorary Lone Star FFA Degree

Fort Worth, Texas – Kevin and Carol McCaslin were awarded the Honorary Lone Star FFA Degree at the 91th annual Texas FFA State Convention held July 15-19 in Fort Worth.  The Honorary Lone Star FFA Degree is the highest honorary degree bestowed by the Texas FFA.

Carol McCaslin has spent numerous years supporting agriculture and the FFA.  Being the mother of three boys that were all very active FFA members, Carol dedicated countless hours to planning, organizing and serving Celeste FFA.  She has served as the Celeste FFA Booster Club secretary since 2008, and then Carol elected to continue to serve even after her boys graduated.  Carol is the type of person that does not think twice to step in and lend a hand.  The FFA has grown to rely on her talents for organizing and planning events such as the Ag banquet and Booster Club Auction.   Carol’s love and dedication to the Celeste FFA program is exceptional.  She is the calming factor in our hectic lives; therefore, she was an excellent candidate for the Honorary Lone Star FFA Degree.

Kevin McCaslin has been an active member of the Celeste FFA Booster Club for many years.  Say his name, and immediately, your mouth starts to water for his famous barbeque.  Kevin has smoked countless briskets, pork, sausage and other delicious meats for FFA events.  Even though his children have graduated high school, he continues to donate his services every year to support the FFA.  Staying up all night, and serving the public that next day, Kevin gives his time to FFA events such as banquets, auctions and for the Hunt County Fair buyers group.  Kevin loves supporting youth from all over Hunt County.  He is a familiar face at the Hunt County Fair because he wants to show his support for the FFA and 4-H exhibitors.  For many years at the Hunt County Fair, he presented buckles donated by Cavenders to the Grand and Reserve Champion winners.  Celeste FFA appreciates Kevin McCaslin’s tireless efforts and dedication to the students and the FFA program.  Kevin’s willingness to serve, and his avid support for student programs made him a great candidate for the Honorary Lone Star FFA Degree.

The Honorary Lone Star FFA Degree recognizes individuals who have rendered outstanding service to agricultural education and the Texas FFA.  Celeste FFA is very fortunate to have had these stand out supporters over the years, and we congratulate them on receiving this esteemed honorary degree.
