Celeste ISD is proud to celebrate Mrs. Melody Lloyd, a deeply dedicated and inspiring educator, as one of this year’s Exemplary Teachers. With 28 years of teaching experience, Mrs. Lloyd brings not only a wealth of knowledge to her classroom but a heart full of compassion and a powerful personal mission to uplift and empower every student she encounters.
A lifelong learner, Mrs. Lloyd holds a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of North Texas and a Master of Science in Mathematics Teaching from Stephen F. Austin State University. She is certified in multiple areas including 1-8 Math, K-12 ESL, 6-12 Mathematics, and G/T instruction. In addition to her classroom experience, she also served at the Education Service Center Region 10, where she trained teachers across the metroplex—impacting education on a broad scale.
But perhaps the most meaningful part of Mrs. Lloyd’s journey is the “why” behind her work. Reflecting on her own childhood, she shared: “I had a rough upbringing and struggled, but school was always a positive for me. I had several teachers that would ‘fill my bucket’ when I came to school that helped me to cope with the struggles at home. I want to be that for my students. I want all of them to feel valued and important. So I try to fill their bucket when they are in my class or around me.”
It is this deep empathy, paired with her exceptional teaching ability, that makes Mrs. Lloyd truly exemplary. Her classroom is a place where students not only learn but feel seen, supported, and encouraged to become the best version of themselves.
We are honored to recognize Mrs. Lloyd for her years of service, her excellence in education, and most of all, the kindness and care she shares so freely. Thank you, Mrs. Lloyd, for making Celeste ISD a better place—one student at a time.
