Celeste ISD Celebrates School Board Recognition Month!

School Board Recognition Month

January is School Board Recognition Month, and Celeste ISD appreciates our school board!  These local community members are working for our kids, planting seeds of success by setting standards for our students, monitoring whether goals are met, tracking progress and creating a safe and orderly environment where students can learn and teachers can teach.  The board serves as the advocate for educational excellence for the youth of Celeste ISD and puts those interests first. Our district benefits from the tireless work, dedication and numerous hours that our school board contributes to Celeste ISD.  Board members serving are: Chris Barnard-President, Trevor Minter-Vice President, Brian Thompson-Secretary, Mike Curry-Member, John McDaniel-Member, Matt Ottwell-Member and John Stark-Member

The school board also oversees school finance.  They are held accountable for the quality of our financial management practices and to ensure that the maximum allocation goes directly for instructional purposes.  “In addition to working countless hours to provide the best possible education for our kids, the school board should be recognized for their commitment to the annual budget.  Celeste ISD received a Superior Rating from the Texas Education Agency scoring 100 out of 100 points on the 2017-2018 Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (First Report).  Please take time to thank school board members for being champions for our kids,” said Superintendent Brad Connelly.

Thank a school board member today!
