Celeste ISD Senior Citizen Night

Celeste ISD Senior Citizen Night was once again hindered with thunderstorms and rain, but the undesirable weather did not put a damper on the crowd.  Over one hundred senior guests turned out for the big event.  It seems the rain has become a tradition along with the senior citizen dinner because it has accompanied the event for the past three years!  Luckily, guests braved the torrential rain because the night was filled with celebration and Blue Devil spirit.  The cheerleaders, drill team and drum corps raised the roof in the gymnasium with their exciting performances.  Superintendent, Brad Connelly, spoke to the crowd and addressed many of the positive things that are happening in Celeste ISD.  Following the performances, seniors were treated to a delicious lasagna meal and presented with athletic passes and a Celeste Blue Devil insulated bag.  FFA members helped serve the guests.

This night is dear to Celeste ISD as we are able to honor and recognize the contributions of our older community members.  Observing students eagerly awaiting the arrival of grandparents and loved ones is always memorable.  Looking forward to this fun event, the students are filled with excitement as they run to greet and hug their special guests!

The football players had to endure the lousy weather as well.  The game was delayed by the lightening until 8:00 p.m., but despite the bad weather delay, the Blue Devils beat Cumby 41-28.
