CELESTE HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 2017

Congratulations to the Celeste High School Class of 2017!  The commencement ceremony will be held on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 8:00 PM in the Celeste High School Gymansium.  

Valedictorian Lindsay Thompson
Lindsay Thompson is the daughter of Julie and Brian Thompson. She is valedictorian of her class with a GPA of 99.440. She has participated in Drum Corps for 4 years and was the Lieutenant for the last two years. She has been an active member of the FFA for four years, serving as the Chapter Treasurer for the 2015-2016 year and Chapter First Vice President for the 2016-2017 year. She has been in Beta Club for four years, serving as the Vice President for the 2015-2016 year and the Secretary for the 2016-2017 year. She has been in FCA for four years, serving as Worship Leader from 2014-2016 and as President from 2016-2017. She has participated in UIL One Act Play, receiving Best Actress and is advancing to the state competition in UIL Prose Interpretation. She has also been class president for three years and has been in Book Club for four years. She has been an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Lindsay will graduate distinguished with honors, and she will attend the University of Texas at Austin to study psychology and history with plans to eventually go to law school.

 

Salutatorian Emily Bowles
Emily is the daughter of John and Lynsi Bowles. She is the salutatorian of her class with a GPA of 96.704. Emily has participated in Beta Club for 4 years, serving as the Treasurer for the 2015-2016 year and the Vice President for the 2016-2017 year. She has also been a member of FFA for 4 years, serving as the Chapter Treasurer for the 2016-2017 year. She has been in FCA for 3 years, serving as Chair of Games and Activities for the 2016-2017 year. She has also been an active member in the Book Club for 2 years, Drum Corps for 4 years, One Act Play for 3 years, and yearbook staff for 2 years, serving as the editor for the 2016-2017 year. Emily will attend Tarleton State University and double major in History and Psychology. She also plans to obtain a degree in Library Science and work in a museum either domestically or overseas.
