The Celeste Youth Sports Association has changed the selection process for the scholarship awards for graduating seniors. Anyone wishing to acquire a scholarship from the organization should download this document for a list of the qualifications and selection criteria. All submissions must be mailed to CYSA at the address listed on the form no later than February 28th, 2018.
Glaser Family Charitable Foundation Scholarship
The Glaser Family Charitable Foundation was organized in 2001 and is located in Bonham, TX. The foundation’s scholarship program is for graduating seniors. Students must have a 2.0 GPA in order to apply, and grants are available to all levels of post-secondary education, including vocational and technical training schools. The application can be found at www.gfcf.org beginning January 1, 2018. The deadline for returning applications is February 28, 2018.
RWC Foundation Career Scholarship
The RWC Foundation seeks to identify worthy students who need additional resources to support their education. Criteria used to determine scholarship recipients are academic merit, diversity, and financial need. You must be a senior in a public or private high school in Hunt County, Texas, with a minimum 2.0 GPA and a resident of Hunt County. See me for the application. DWI Dawn Brooks Memorial Scholarship
DrugFree Greenville continues to sponsor the DWI Dawn Brooks Memorial Scholarship for graduating seniors. This scholarship for $250 is awarded to a 2017 Hunt County graduating senior. Blue Ridge Riding Club
The Blue Ridge Riding Club is a non-profit organization located in Blue Ridge, Texas. Our goal is to promote horsemanship and other community service projects which support our community and surrounding communities. Over the past two years, the Blue Ridge Riding Club has awarded $22,000 in scholarships. Applicants do NOT have to be a member for eligibility. In fact, over half the awarded scholarship money went to nonmembers.
There are three categories of scholarships available:
1. Gold Buckle - member for 2 or more years - $2500
2. Silver Buckle - member for at least 1 year - $1000
3. Bronze - Community Scholarship (nonmember) - $500

Ronald McDonald House Charities US Scholarship Program
The RMHC US Scholarship Program seeks to invest in students who are exemplary role models in their communities and have the initiative to fulfill their educational goals. A partnership between the RMHC and its local chapters opens the door to higher education for graduating high school seniors. The deadline for applying is January 19, 2018. Texas Engineering Foundation
The chapters of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE) award scholarships to student studying to become engineers in a program at an ABET-accredited college or university. To be eligible, the student must have a 3.0 or higher GPA, have scored at least 620 in math/580 in reading and writing onthe SAT (or a 29 in math/25 in English on the ACT), and submit an application by January 19, 2018. DR. MICHAEL O’MALLEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The year 2018 marks the twenty-fourth time that the Texas Medical Association Young Physician Section will award its rural science scholarship. This $1,000 award is given to a rural Texas high school senior who excels in science, for use toward continuing his or her education in the field of medicine. In 2007, the YPS Rural Scholarship was transformed into a memorial scholarship for Michael O’Malley, MD. Dr. O’Malley, a recipient of a similar scholarship himself, was an internal medicine physician in Galveston and past chair of the TMA Young Physician Section. Tragically, Dr. O’Malley died from cardiac arrest in his home at the age of 43 and left a wife and two young children. In his memory, the young physicians’ are continuing the tradition of helping rural high school seniors pursue a degree in the field of medicine.
All outstanding rural high school seniors interested in pursuing their education and becoming a physician are invited to apply for this award. University of Houston
Every year, the Frontier Fiesta Association gives scholarships to deserving incoming freshman at the University of Houston and current UH students. These scholarships not only reward academic achievement, but also recognize outstanding efforts in community service. Frontier Fiesta is the University of Houston's oldest and proudest tradition. Established in 1940, it began as a festival to promote the University of Houston when the University first moved from downtown Houston to its present location.
